Terms of Service
Last updated September 3, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Ask Adel (the "platform"). Ask Adel is operated by an individual as a sole proprietor — it is not a registered company, corporation, or other separate legal entity. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms.
1. Individual operation
Ask Adel is run by one individual as a sole proprietor, not through a registered company or other separate legal entity. References to "we," "us," or "Ask Adel" in these Terms mean that individual operator, acting in their personal capacity as the platform's operator, unless a future update states otherwise.
2. Your account
You're responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that happens under your account. Let us know promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission. You must provide accurate information when registering and keep it up to date.
3. Course access
Purchasing or being granted access to a course gives you a personal, non-transferable right to view and use that course's content for your own learning. Where a course page states it includes lifetime access, that means your access does not expire on a fixed schedule — it remains subject to your account staying in good standing and to the platform continuing to operate (see Section 8).
4. Prohibited use
You agree not to:
- Share your account or course access with anyone else, or resell course content;
- Copy, redistribute, or publish course materials outside the platform;
- Attempt to bypass payment, access controls, or security measures;
- Use the platform for any unlawful purpose, or to harass, abuse, or harm others;
- Interfere with the normal operation of the platform (e.g. through excessive automated requests).
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
5. Intellectual property
Course content — including videos, articles, quizzes, and other course materials — is owned by its instructor or by Ask Adel, and is made available to you for personal learning only. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of that content to you. The Ask Adel name and site design belong to the platform operator.
6. Payments
Courses may be purchased using the payment methods offered on the platform, currently:
- PayPal, in Canadian dollars (CAD); or
- Linden Dollars (L$) through an in-world Second Life terminal, for accounts linked to a Second Life avatar — see our guide to purchasing with Second Life.
Prices are shown on each course page before you purchase. All sales are final. See our Refund Policy for full details, including statutory rights that this policy does not affect.
7. No guarantee of outcomes
Unless a specific course page explicitly states otherwise, completing a course on Ask Adel does not constitute a professional license, accreditation, or certification recognized by any third party, and does not guarantee employment or any other outcome. Any certificate of completion offered by a course confirms only that you completed that course's content on this platform.
8. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the platform available and course content accessible, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may update, suspend, or discontinue features of the platform, and may update these Terms from time to time; continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
9. Limitation of liability
The platform and its content are provided "as is," without warranties of any kind beyond those that cannot be excluded under applicable law. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ask Adel's operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability, right, or remedy that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded under applicable Ontario or Canadian law.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada applicable in Ontario, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
11. Contact
Questions about these Terms can be sent through the Contact page.
